I’ll be back occasionally, maybe, but for now it’s time to put wasted time towards something else. I thought television was a major cause of ADD, training people to have a hard time focusing with it’s 7 minutes of engaging programming and then 3 minutes of an unengaged commercial break, but I’m beginning to think this whole tumblr thing is definitely worse.
People stop paying attention if a post is longer than 30-40 words, which means [in this post] most people tuned out right in time for the commercial break…hopefully they decided to pick back up here after 15-20 words…So since people stop paying attention if a post is anything but short, very smart/interesting/funny/informed people begin creating shorter and shorter posts and eventually begin the curse of regurgitating other peoples shitty material. But, the real bitch of it is that eventually these people who used to have something good to say start putting effort into creating something so shitty and short and retarded that it too can become regurgitated bullshit.
In turn we have an entire website full of naturally talented and interesting people who are trying their hardest to be “talented and interesting” in a completely different way than is being true to themselves.
I’m going back to mailing things, so if you made it this far and like to receive shit with a stamp on it, email me your address or p.o. box and you can count on it. Even if you live in the same city, or we talk on a regular basis, still send me your address, the fact that I don’t know some of my best friends’ addresses is insane.
