Yes, we have to pay taxes. If you want to go somewhere where you don’t have to pay taxes, feel free, your options are Antartica, or the small island of Brunei.

Yeah, the issue here is not that we have to pay taxes, we do and we should. But the way the system is designed, we are giving the government what amounts to an interest-free loan out of our paychecks until they give us the amount we overpaid back. Which has always been a questionable practice at best. So there’s really no reason to say thanks.
The IRS has a huge headquarters in my hometown (Ogden Utah) and we don’t have a lot of professional sports teams in Utah, so we root for what we’ve got. The competition is fierce, but my hometown team, the IRS, always wins! And for my cheers they’ve always taken pretty good care of me.
I pay in, they give the overpaid amount back. I’ve always had good jobs and have never had any problems living just because I had to pay taxes. Rent is always on time, I go to nice places, I buy things that I like, and I even SAVE MONEY! Imagine that. Consumerism is what we should be battling, not paying taxes. We spend money on all sorts of stupid shit, I personally don’t mind spending it on something like Healthcare
